A Shared To-Do App Built for ADHD + Autism Couples

A shared kanban-style to-do app designed for neurodivergent couples to co-manage chores, reminders, and shared wish lists.

Does anyone know an app for our (my partner with autism and me with adhd) specific needs?

Hello, can anyone help me find the right app? We're looking for a productivity app on android and preferably usable on pc or in the browser too. We would like to work in the same to-do lists, make list of things we like together or would want to do and see together, but also to get more productive in our lives. It would help me organise and help my partner with seeing and noticing things she could do (like watering plants, making appointments, buying gifts, doing chores). We would like a sort of Kanban app with the option of extra lists for things listed above. Does anyone know an app like that?

The problem, in the searcher’s words

One partner has ADHD, the other is autistic, and they're trying to find one app where they can both see and edit the same to-do lists — not two separate apps that don't talk to each other. They want a kanban-style board they can share, plus extra lists for things like gift ideas or activities they want to do together.

The deeper need isn't just 'a to-do list' — it's help with noticing tasks that need doing at all (watering plants, booking appointments, buying gifts, chores) for the partner who doesn't naturally clock these things, while the ADHD partner needs a system to stay organized without micromanaging their partner.

Generic productivity apps get recommended, but none of them are built around this specific two-person, two-different-brains dynamic — shared visibility plus passive prompting for tasks someone might not otherwise notice.

What the thread shows

A single couple has a specific, well-articulated need for a shared, executive-function-aware task app, but commenters could only offer generic project-management tools or a non-shareable executive-function app — no one named a tool that covers both angles.

It doesn’t have a sharing function unfortunately, but I really like Goblin Tools. It includes a suite of functions that are are specifically intended for people who struggle with executive function

Target customer

Who

Couples where one or both partners are neurodivergent (ADHD, autism) and want to co-manage household tasks and shared goals in one place

Context

Daily household coordination — chores, appointments, gifts, plant care — where one partner struggles to notice or initiate tasks and the other struggles to stay organized without a shared system

What to build

  • Shared Kanban boards both partners can view and edit in real time
  • Recurring/reminder cards for routine tasks (watering plants, appointments)
  • Shared 'wish list' style lists for things to do or buy together
  • Visual cues (color/icons) to reduce cognitive load when scanning tasks
  • Android app with browser/web access, per the OP's stated requirement

Build note — Needs genuine Android + web parity (not just a responsive mobile app) since the OP explicitly wants both. Differentiation hinges on UX research into executive-function-friendly task presentation, similar in spirit to Goblin Tools, combined with real-time multi-user sharing that Goblin Tools lacks.

Who’s already out there

ClickUp

Visit

General-purpose project/task management with Kanban boards, lists, and collaboration features

Gap: Built for teams/work, not designed around executive-function support or couple-specific shared living lists

Trello
high
Visit

Kanban board app for organizing tasks into shareable lists and cards

Gap: No built-in prompting or accommodations for noticing/initiating tasks; purely a generic board tool

Todoist
high
Visit

Task manager with priorities, deadlines, notes, and cross-platform sync

Gap: List-based, not Kanban-native, and not tailored to neurodivergent executive-function needs as a commenter noted ('an app alone can't solve the problem')

Notion
high
Visit

Flexible workspace that can be configured into Kanban boards, lists, and shared docs

Gap: Requires significant manual setup/customization; no out-of-the-box executive-function support or couple-focused templates

Goblin Tools
medium

Suite of tools specifically built to help people with executive dysfunction break down and manage tasks

Gap: Explicitly lacks a sharing function, per a commenter, so it can't support the couple's shared-list use case

Demand read

The thread shows a genuine, specific unmet need, but contains no statements about paying for a solution — demand here is inferred from the gap between existing tools, not confirmed by the source.

Worth digging into before you build

5 to consider

No idea is a sure thing at this stage — these are open questions worth checking yourself, not a verdict against building it.

Thin Source

Only 14 comments, most of which are one-line generic app name-drops; limited depth to validate the idea broadly.

Single Voice

Only the OP articulates the specific ADHD+autism couple pain; commenters just suggest existing generic tools without corroborating the niche need.

Generic Idea

Core request is a shared to-do/Kanban app, a saturated category already dominated by ClickUp, Trello, Todoist, and Notion.

Weak Demand

No statements in the thread indicate willingness to pay for a dedicated solution.

Sensitive Domain

Thread involves ADHD and autism (neurodivergence/mental health); needs editorial review before publishing.
